Squirrel Hill Disc Golf Course
Course location
Minocqua, Wisconsin
Headline
18 hole course with lots of elevation changes. Mix of tight wooded fairways and open slope shots.
Description
Course is located at Minocqua Winter Park. Follow along beautiful pine and hardwood forested ski and snowshoe trails. And then break out onto the old alpine ski slopes. Open vistas and a historic fire tower await you at the top of the hill. Then it’s back into the woods to finish your round. Lots of elevation changes make this an unusual course for Wisconsin. Short and long baskets and one concrete tee pad per hole. The beauty and solitude of this park is hard to beat.

History
Minocqua Winter Park ( MWP) is primarily a Nordic ski center. It also had a history of being a down hill ski venue in the 60s. MWP was looking for more visitors in the summer months and this is where we (Dennis and Barb Blow ) come in. We are avid Disc Golfers playing in many tournaments around the state. Being employees and volunteers at MWP we saw the potential for a course at the park. Once we proposed it to the park in the spring of 2023 it took less than 6 months to raise the funds and install the course. Final touches were done the spring of 2024. This course was built with all volunteer labor. And all money was raised through sponsorships. This course would not exist without volunteers and generous donors.
