Headline
FOREST - A challenging 18-hole course through woods and meadows; FIELD - A short and fun 9-hole learn-to-play course.
Description
Parking and access to both courses begins at the Farm's gravel parking lot and along the MetoParks Bikeway spur trail. Signage and a practice putting basket are located at the trailhead. The 9-hole FIELD Course is designed as a learn-to-play facility for beginners, or a quick warm-up for more experienced players. The FIELD Course begins to the right of the spur trail along a grassed farm lane. The course wraps around the Farm's fishing pond and children's natural playground. The first four holes are open and played across a mowed lawn, while the final 5 holes are located in the adjacent woods. The 18-hole FOREST Course is accessed by walking the length of the spur trail, crossing the MetroParks Bikeway, and traversing the grassed farm lane of the Mindy Henning Memorial Trail to reach the #1 Tee at the edge of the forest. The FOREST Course is a challenging course requiring skill, accuracy, and creativity. This par 60 course has narrow, tree-line fairways, blind tee shots, undulating terrain, tributary crossings, and a few surprises along the way. The heavily wooded front 9 makes way for a unique back 9 with holes surrounded by meadow, water, pine groves, and other habitats. Both courses provide diverse and picturesque settings, memorable vistas, and educational experiences regarding agriculture and natural resources.
