Description
Well groomed fairways with a great mix of trees. The Highland Park disc golf course was the first course installed in the St. Paul metro. The idea of bringing a disc golf course to Highland Park was presented to Robert Piram, Superintendent of St. Paul Park & Recreation & Vic Wittgenstein, Manager of Special Services in 1987 by the efforts of Billie Ashton. In May/1988, a 9-hole course was installed. Ashton designed the original 9-hole layout. The course expanded to a 12 hole layout in 1989 and once again, designed by Ashton. In 2006, Highland Park went through a park renovation upgrade and the course was then downsized back to 9-hole layout and redesigned by Tony McGibbon. The Highland Park disc golf course has been a popular metro course for the past 35 years and was upgraded and expanded to 18-hole layout in June/2018 by Cale Leiviska with Prodigy T1 baskets. 2023 adjustment by Billie Ashton and Richard Rasch brings back an original hole out of the woods and improves the flow late on the course.
