New 9-hole disc golf course at the Hiawatha City Lake/Park. Providing both open and challenging shot opportunities!
Description
The new Hiawatha Disc Golf Course is located at the Hiawatha City Lake/Park which is approximately 1 mile south of Hiawatha, KS on US HWY 73. The previous Hiawatha Disc Golf Course was located within the Hiawatha city limits at the Fischer Center/Aquatic Park/Noble Park area. Desiring to find a less congested and more challenging course location, the new course was installed at the Hiawatha City Lake/Park in June, 2024. The Hiawatha Disc Golf Course features 9-holes, utilizing DGA Mach II baskets. Hole distances range from 250’ to 455’. At this time the Hiawatha Disc Golf Course does not have tee pads, the ground surface area 3 meters behind and to the left each tee sign or marker forms the imaginary tee rectangle. Holes 3, 6, and 9 have “alternative tee” locations as shown on the applicable tee signs. The “alternative tee” locations for these holes are marked by 12”x18” pavers which are set in the ground. “Alternative tee” locations 3A, 6A, & 9A were established for those not wanting to throw over or through existing obstacles. “Alternative tee” location 6B was established for those wanting to experience a more challenge laden hole alternative. The Hiawatha Disc Golf Course provides a mixture of open and challenging shop opportunities. Existing obstacles include young and mature trees, a marsh area, and the upper end of the Hiawatha City Lake. As there is no “designated” parking area at the Hiawatha City Lake/Park…parking is accomplished by pulling over along one of the existing roads near tee #1. Whether you’re a beginner or an old pro, you’ll enjoy a fun disc golf experience in a great outdoor location!
