The 9th hole is another one that required a ton of cutting to get where it is today. The fairway is still a little bit narrow, but it's come a long way from when we opened in 2022.

9th hole
Chris and Rocco on the job as we cleaned up #9 this summer.
The 9th hole is cleared up and cleaned out, and we added a small footbridge to ease the transition to the pathway back to the parking lot.
Hole 7
Uphill fairway looking at the 7th hole
This summer we did some fancy driving and got our wood chipper right into the heart of the course, where 4, 5, 7, and 8 come together. We've still got some chipping left to do, but our July and August work made a huge difference.
So much cutting on 7! So much better than when we started.
Hole 1
1st hole with 3rd hole above on the ridge
The course looks great in the snow! Come out to play!
Don't worry - this view of the 1st basket isn't the fairway route to the target. But it's an attractive first view of the course as you enter the woods behind Freeport Middle School.
The 1st basket, with the 2nd tee in the background. The playability of these two holes took a huge jump after our work this summer.

3rd hole
Third hole looking sharp in the early afternoon sunlight.
The 3rd hole is one of my favorites primarily because I could envision how it would look from the first day I started mapping out the property. It's taken a ton of cutting and cleaning, but following the ridge and then finishing with an elevated basket is picturesque.
We also widened and straightened the 3rd hole this summer. This westerly view along the ridgeline is especially nice in the afternoon.
Hole 4
4th hole near high ropes elements
Looking down to the last few yards of the 4th hole. High ropes elements in the back to the left, and big piles from our chipping in the foreground.

Hole 5
5th hole - nicer signs will be installed soon
The 5th tee area runs right up next to the Freeport Community Library. Sometime soon we'll knock down the dead trees that used to be a part of the ropes course.
Hole 6
6th hole looking back up the rugged fairway
I just love the glade-like appearance of the 6th hole, playing downhill on the streambed. The afternoon light there is great.
Hole 8
Downhill approach to the 8th hole
Awesome new staircase makes the hill leading down to the 8th basket much more pleasant!
