Wooded public 9-hole course in Freeport village
Description
Established in 2022, the Freeport Fairgrounds Disc Golf Course is a creation of RSU5 Community Programs in partnership with the Town of Freeport and the Freeport Community Library. The course is free to play and open to the public. Located partly on town land and partly on land owned by the public school district, alcohol, tobacco, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited. In order for this course to remain free and accessible to all, the following guidelines are critical for players to observe: *Before adding the disc golf course, the trails on this piece of land were a well-established area for residents and dog-walkers. Please be aware of non-playing pedestrians, and yield right-of-way to them at all times. *Signs of abuse could lead to the course being closed by the town or the school district. Appropriately dispose of all trash and recyclables, and abide by the prohibition of substances as described above. *The disc golf course and the integrated ropes course are part of our physical education curriculum. When student groups are using either of these features, members of the public may not play at that time. *Our neighbors and abutting land-owners deserve respect and privacy, and holes #5-6 are particularly close to their private property. Please do not stray from the estabished course and trails and observe signage indicating private property. Enjoy the course! Questions, comments, or feedback may be directed to [email protected].
