History
Chains of Grace Disc Golf Course began as a simple idea with a big purpose. What started as a youth ministry dream at Friendship Baptist Church grew into a full community outreach—combining recreation, fellowship, and faith in a unique and meaningful way. Youth Pastor David Tantanella and the Impact Youth team were looking for a creative way to connect with students, families, and neighbors beyond the church walls. Disc golf became the perfect bridge: affordable, easy to learn, and a sport that brings people together naturally. What began with a few borrowed baskets and rough fairways quickly turned into a vision for something more permanent. Volunteers from the church and community jumped in—clearing brush, shaping fairways, setting tee pads, and building a course that reflected both fun and purpose. Each hole was carefully planned to make the course friendly for beginners but enjoyable for seasoned players. Bit by bit, the course took shape, built not by contractors, but by hands willing to serve. The name “Chains of Grace” was chosen to represent more than just the chains of a disc golf basket. It’s a reminder that God’s grace connects us—link by link—through relationships, kindness, and moments shared outside in His creation. Today, Chains of Grace stands as a ministry-minded course: a place to play, to grow, to fellowship, and to feel welcome whether you’re holding a disc for the first time or the thousandth. Every throw is part of the story… and the story is still being written.
