History
In 2019, Nils Thulin submitted a citizen's proposal to the municipality to build an 18-hole disc golf course in Karlskrona. That same year, Nils presented two possible locations for the course, and the final choice was Rosnholm. Approximately SEK 500,000 was allocated for the project. However, the project was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the spring of 2021, Nils re-established contact with the municipality, leading to the purchase of baskets and the construction of teepads. During the fall of 2021, several club members were out in the woods considering a good design, but it became clear that the plot of land provided by the municipality wasn't large enough. Nils then contacted a private landowner (SBB) and Region Blekinge, who owned a nature reserve adjacent to the planned area. After some discussions, the club received approval from all parties to establish the course. The course was completed in the fall of 2022. The club is continuously working on improvements and minor adjustments to the holes. This is an excellent example of how collaboration between the public sector and fantastic engagement from a club can lead to something truly great.
