Rolling glacial drumlins surrounded by picturesque prairie areas
Description
The Capital Springs Recreation Area 18-hole course is laid out over rolling glacial drumlins surrounded by picturesque prairie areas and offers bicycle access off the Capital City Trail. Manicured fairways, dense rough, and many elevation changes. Often windy, this mostly open layout invites players to score well early on before heading into the wooded middle portion of the course. Hole 16 is an "island" hole (surrounded by OB, not water) and well-known for creating dramatic finishes. 2 teepads on every hole and baskets frequently rotate between short/red, middle/white, or long/blue positions. Part of the Dane County Parks disc golf permit system (along with Vallarta-Ast DGC at Token Creek). $8/day or $50/year, but free for ages 15 and under. Extra $5/day fee for dogs. Purchase permit through Dane County Parks website or there is an electronic kiosk on-site. Designed by Larry Ast PDGA #10781 and Course Pro Ron James PDGA # 23528.
