Erick Gill
Freelance Writer, Part-Time Disc Golf Player, and Full-time Communications Professional
I first discovered disc golf in the early '90s as a college student at Elon College (now University) in central North Carolina, But like several discs from my bag - I lost touch with the game until 2019 when I rediscovered my love for throwing things.
As a North Carolina native, I began my professional career as reporter writing for daily newspapers in Virginia, North Carolina and Florida, covering sports, breaking news, the environment, fisheries and local government. I soon moved to the other side of the notebook, working as the marketing director for Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, Florida for six seasons, before joining the St. Lucie County Tourism Office in 2003. I currently serve as the Communications Director for St. Lucie County, Florida, where I hosts several government-access television shows, take photographs, manage social media accounts and write and distribute more than 400 press releases a year.
I live in Fort Pierce, Florida (between Orlando and Miami) and am a tag-carrying member of the Treasure Coast Disc Golf Club.
